Simple to install. You can use the supplied control software or use the Windows supplied WiFi management software. Range is very good, as is throughput. Highly recommended.
we bought this card for our new quad core 2 machine running vista ultimate and it crashed our system and the software is not reconized by vista we ended up using the card from our old computer our opinon this is junk hardware
Also Vista-Home Premium even searched for and updated the driver automatically to the November 08 current driver. You may want to consider the Sabrent 802.11n PCI-card for $29 which will work for n/g/b and greater range.
It had to work for me to replace an old Belkin PCI card and a D-Link USB adapter that Vista rejected (call it equipment obsolescense). As an experienced network user, I knew to install the drivers before popping in the PCI card into the motherboard, this despite having no user manual supplied.
The Sabrent PCI-G802 card came in a box that clearly states that it is Vista-ready. But the utility does have a user manual built in once installed.
The mini-CD containing the drivers was recognized by Vista and the utilities were set up fine. The CD also does not have a pdf-manual for the PCI but only for the USB version.
Otherwise, for the money the G802 works great. The connection speed surpassed T-1 connections at 2.3 Mbps from my cable modem via a Netgear 614 router and produced very minimal latency for online games.
The product was easy to install if you have a little knowledge about PCs because there are no instructions (only a CD). In any case, it is great for the money. Works fine. Very happy with the product.
Installed in a minute and was able to work seamlessly with my pc worked with wireless b too.
